PROBLEMS SIGNING ON?
Occasionally security settings within browsers, specialist security software and firewalls prevent users from being able to sign on to ENA web systems. This problem manifests itself by causing users who attempt to sign in with the correct user ID and password to be routed straight back to the sign on page.
ENA web systems require that your browser and network are set to allow 'per session cookies' to be stored on your computer. Such cookies store information regarding your session as you pass from page to page.
Internet Explorer 6.0 is sometimes configured to disallow per session cookies.
To set it to allow per session cookies, Select 'Internet Options' from the 'Tools'
menu and select the 'Privacy' tab. Move the slider down to reduce the Cookie
security and click the 'Apply' button at the bottom right of the dialog box
to apply your changes. Alternatively, by clicking the 'Edit' button at the bottom
of the 'Privacy' tab you are able to allow cookies from ENA web sites but not
from other sites. Input 'ena-eng.org' as the web site address and click the
button to allow cookies.
If the steps above do not resolve the problem then either network security as enforced by a firewall or security software (including software firewalls) are likely to be the cause. Your network administrator or software vendor should be able to help you resolve the problem. However please feel free to contact the following ENA web system IT administrator:

Introduction
The Accident Database System is a web system that allows Energy Networks Association (ENA) members to enter details of Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences to conform to regulations regarding the reporting of such incidents. The system is administered by the ENA Health and Safety Group.
The system is compatible with Internet Explorer versions 4.0 - 6.0 and Netscape Navigator versions 4.0 - 6.0. It is optimised for Internet Explorer Version 5.0 and later. Screen resolution must be 800 * 600 or greater - the system is optimised for screen resolution 1024 * 768.
The system makes use of per-session cookies (not stored permanently on your computer), which are sometimes disabled by high security/privacy settings on a browser and very occasionally by third party security software. If this applies to your system, signing on will fail and you will be continually routed back to the signon page. Reduce your security/privacy settings or contact the administrator named below for help in resolving the problem.
Enquiries
For any enquiries regarding the system, please contact the following administrator at the ENA:
Richard Le Gros Tel: 020 7706 5132
User Sign On
Users are allocated a User ID and Password by the ENA. These should be entered in the boxes on the Sign On page to enter the system. If you have any problems logging on to the system, please contact the administrator named above.
Administrators are able to allocate a range of permission levels to users in order to restrict access to different facilities offered by the system.
Using the Accident Database System
A [HELP] link at the top right of each page provides guidance for the use of that page. After Sign On the user is routed to the main menu. The [HELP] facility on the main menu provides a detailed overview of the principles and functions of the system.
