PROBLEMS SIGNING ON?
Occasionally security settings within browsers, specialist security software and firewalls prevent users from being able to sign on to ENA web systems.
This problem manifests itself by causing users who attempt to sign in with the correct user ID and password to be routed straight back to the sign on page. ENA web systems require that your browser and network are set to allow 'per session cookies' to be stored on your computer. Such cookies store information regarding your session as you pass from page to page.
Internet Explorer 6.0 is sometimes configured to disallow per session cookies. To set it to allow per session cookies, Select 'Internet Options' from the 'Tools' menu and select the 'Privacy' tab. Move the slider down to reduce the Cookie security and click the 'Apply' button at the bottom right of the dialog box to apply your changes. Alternatively, by clicking the 'Edit' button at the bottom of the 'Privacy' tab you are able to allow cookies from ENA web sites but not from other sites. Input 'ena-eng.org' as the web site address and click the button to allow cookies.
Another possible cause of problems is the Google toolbar or other popup blocking software. The ENA Document Catalogue system is opened in a new window, which is sometimes blocked - you will need to configure the google toolbar/popup blocker to allow popups from the ENA Document Catalogue System.
If the steps above do not resolve the problem then either network security as enforced by a firewall or security software (including software firewalls) are likely to be the cause. Your network administrator or software vendor should be able to help you resolve the problem. However please feel free to contact the following ENA web system IT administrator:

The ENA Document Catalogue System is a catalogue of Engineering Documents available from the ENA.
These include Technical Specifications, BEBS Specifications, Engineering Recommendations and a variety of reports.
Most documents are available to any user but a number are confidential to ENA Member Companies. The ENA Document Catalogue System allows users that are not Full Members of the ENA to purchase documents by credit/debit card via secure transactions provided by WorldPay.
As of 11 February 2004, users from Full Member companies can request documents on the site, which will be delivered by email or on CD ROM as required and without any charge.
Documents purchased in Electronic format will be emailed to the purchaser and are also made available for download from the website for 24 hours from the time the order is placed.
Documents requested by full member users are not made available for download.
Documents ordered/requested on CD will be despatched within 5 days and are subject to delivery charges if the destination is outside the UK.
System Requirements
The system is compatible with Internet Explorer versions 4.0 - 5.5 and Netscape Navigator versions 4.0 - 6.0.
It is optimised for Internet Explorer Versions 5.0 - 5.5. Electronic versions of some documents have large file sizes.
On slower connections download times can be significant.
The [HELP] text gives an indication of the expected download times for different types of connection on the appropriate pages.
Users with slow or unreliable connections who need access to a large document may prefer to order it on CD ROM.
Navigation
Navigation within the system is normally via buttons but significant use is also made of links. The [HELP] facility of each page describes the navigation options of that page.
The Main Menu is the route into all features of the system, the user can click the [HOME] link (top left of the page) at any time to return to the Main Menu.
If the system is not used for 30 minutes the user is automatically logged out. When this happens, attempting to navigate to a new page will result in the user being re-routed to the Sign On page.
Help
A [HELP] link is available at the top right of each page on each page. This opens a new window on top of the NEDERS system.
Each page features help text that is relevant to the features and requirements of that page.
The help window can be maximised or minimised if required and can be closed either in the normal way or by using the link in the first line of the page.
The help text on this page is introductory – more detailed help regarding each function is available on the page that serves that function.
